CIRCUMFERENTIAL CRACK ON FRP PIPE

An FRP pipe was slitted circumferentially and subjected to Nitrogen gas pressure test after repair. Firstly, the pipe surface was cleaned and roughened. Next, Seal Stic and SealXpert Stainless Steel Pipe Clip were applied around the leak area. Thereafter, PS102 repair putty was applied around the affected area. Finally, Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass Repair Tape was applied to reinforce the repaired area.

10 INCH LONGITUDINAL CRACK ON FRP PIPE

A 52″ FRP sweater cooling pipe buried underground was connected to three plants namely Polypropylene, Aromatics and Refinery and cannot be shut down for repair. There is a 10 inch longitudinal crack along the top section of the FRP pipe and the crack is propagating longer each day.

SealXpert stainless steel pipe clip was applied to tighten the FRP so that the crack does not propagate further. Next SealXpert PS102 metal repair putty was applied around the pipe circumference. Finally, Wrap Seal PLUS fiberglass repair tape was applied to the pipe to reinforce on the repair area.

CARBON STEEL BOLTED-ON PIPE FITTING

In order to prevent leaking from a natural gas pipe in a metering station, SealXpert cold-repair products were applied while the pipeline was in operation.

After installing bolted-on pipe fitting onto the pipeline, SealXpert Repair Putty applied around the pipe circumference. After SealXpert Repair Putty is fully cured, Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass Repair Tape was applied for provide reinforcement to the pipeline.

40% PIPE WALL THINNING AND CRACK ON PIPE ELBOW

A 4″ FRP water injection pipeline for an onshore drilling station is thinning to 40% wall thickness due to erosion of sand sediments against internal of pipe elbow. Next a crack has developed at the pipe elbow caused by machinery vibration.

SealXpert repair putty and Seal Stic epoxy was applied onto the pipe elbow to stop the leak and reinforce the pipeline. Next, Wrap Seal fiberglass tape was applied over the repaired surface to increase the pipe wall thickness.

SEVERE LOCALIZED PITTING CORROSION & MORE THAN 50% PIPE WALL LOSS

6,000 metres of 8″ crude oil transportation pipeline was severely corroded. The pipeline has been in operation for 30 years and it is to be repaired and rehabilitated to ensure integrity and prolong its service life, under operating pressure of 350 psig.

Wrap Seal PLUS corrosion repair system was used for the pipeline rehabilitation in this project. First, the pipe surface is cleaned and Wrap Seal PLUS resin and activator mixed and applied onto the pipe surface. Next, Wrap Seal PLUS fiberglass repair tapes were applied to reinforce the pipe wall thickness. This pipeline rehabilitation project was completed successfully in 3 months.

CORROSION ON 8″ CARBON STEEL PIPE

An 8″ semi-buried carbon steel crude oil transportation pipeline is subjected to heavy corrosion.

SealXpert repair putty and Wrap Seal PLUS corrosion repair system was applied together to perform repair and rehabilitation of the splash zone pipeline. First, SealXpert repair putty was applied onto the affected area and Wrap Seal PLUS fiberglass repair tape was then applied to provide reinforcement to the pipeline.
