WELDOLET PIPE LEAK

Leak was discovered at a weldolet pipe for crude oil.

Firstly, the pipe surface was cleaned and roughened. Next, SealXpert Teflon tape and SealXpert Stainless Steel Pipe Clip were applied around the leak area. Thereafter, PS108 Hi-Temp repair putty was applied around the affected area. Finally, Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass Repair Tape was applied to reinforce the repaired area.

10MM TORN OPENING AND 20MM INDENTATION OF STAINLESS STEAL

A 2 ½” Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) pipeline was experiencing a torn opening about 10mm and 1 point indentation area with the length of approximately 20mm. The pipe depressurization and isolation were done during the repair work.
First of all, the pipe surface was cleaned by removing any paint and loose debris. Next, use the Teflon tape and SealXpert Stainless Steel Pipe Clip and clamp onto the leak location. Thereafter, SealXpert Repair Putty was applied onto the repaired area and allowed to be cured for 24 hours. Finally, Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass Repair Tape was reinforced onto the repair area

VARIOUS LEAK ON COPPER NICKEL PIPE

The 10” copper-nickel pipe onboard a naval vessel was leaking fuel oil from various joins and elbows.

SealXpert repair putties and Seal Stic steel epoxy was applied around the pipe circumference. Next, Wrap Sea fiberglass tape was applied over the repaired surface. The repair and reinforcement was initially cured in approx 30 minutes and obtain full cure in 24 hours.

CORROSION REPAIR FOR FRP (FIBERGLASS REINFORCED POLYMER)

An FPSO in West Africa is facing severe corrosion issues at the carbon steel seawater cooling pipeline. The client has intentions to replace these carbon steel pipes with fiberglass reinforced polymer (FRP) pipes, however although FRP pipes are brittle and are susceptive to cracks as they have little tolerance for vibrations (which is a common issue onboard FPSOs). SealXpert products were applied onto FRP pipeline to provide reinforcement and to increase its tolerance to vibrations.

First of all, the pipe surface is cleaned and roughens to provide a good surface profile. Next, Wrap Seal PLUS resin and activator is applied onto the pipe surfaces and all socket joints. Upon curing Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass Repair Tapes is wrapped around the pipe and socket joints to provide reinforcement.

GLASS REINFORCED EPOXY (GRE) PIPELINE

An 18” Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) Pipe in an offshore platform is sustaining pipe leaks at several of the 1 ½” stub pieces.
